Washington DC's CCTV cameras hacked

Timing of the attack said to be coincidental January 16, 2016

Just eight days before Donald Trump’s inauguration, criminals infected 70 percent of Washington’s CCTV cameras with ransomware, according to city officials and the police. 123 of the city's 187 network video recorders were affected and unable to record between January 12 and 15

Polish Banks hacked using malware planted on thier own Government site.

In what considered to be the largest system hack in the country's history and a massive attack on the financial sector, several banks in Poland have been infected with malware. January 12, 2016

What's surprising? The source of the malware infection is their own financial regulator, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) -- which, ironically, is meant to keep an eye out for the safety and security of financial systems in Poland.

Internet-Connected Teddy Bear leaks millions of voice messages and username/passwords

Now, in the latest security failing of the internet-connected smart toys, more than 2 Million voice recordings of children and their parents have been exposed, along with email addresses and passwords for over 820,000 user accounts.
